Fear’s Grip

Knees wobble and hands prostrate,
I stand before my deepest fears.
My heart races, my breath abates,
As I confront my inner tears.

The unknown looms before me,
A path I’ve yet to take.
Courage failing, I can’t flee,
Heartbreak, failure, and heartache.

But in this moment, I choose to stand,
No longer will fear rule my plight.
With every breath, I take command,
And step forward into the light.
