Forgiveness is a double-edged sword,
It can heal wounds, but also strike,
Sometimes it’s best to let it be ignored,
And walk away from the things we don’t like.
It’s hard to forgive and forget,
When the pain is deep and the scars are set,
But it’s also hard to hold onto hate,
And let it consume us, our hearts to abate.
Forgiveness can be a balm for the soul,
A way to find peace and make ourselves whole,
But it can also be a weapon of war,
Used to hurt, to wound, and leave a scar.
So we must be careful with forgiveness,
Not to use it to cause more distress,
But to use it to heal and to grow,
And to let our hearts and souls glow.
