Kerala Sorrow

Blood spilt on the sacred land,
By savage men with vicious hand,
Forced conversions and brutal rape,
Women’s agony, the valley’s gape.

Difficult choices they had to make,
To lose their faith or their own life’s sake,
Living in fear, in their own land,
Injustice dealt with a cruel hand.

Lives destroyed, innocence lost,
Painful memories that never exhaust,
Kerala weeps, for its daughters’ plight,
In dismal darkness, fought their might.
