Nothing Left to Cost

I’ve spent my life in search of gold,
But now I find I’ve nothing left to hold.
My heart is empty, my soul is dry,
I’ve nothing left to buy or why.

I’ve traveled far and wide,
But all I’ve found is greed and pride.
I’ve seen the world, but all I’ve seen
Is people who are just as mean.

I’ve given all I had,
But now I find I’ve nothing left to glad.
I’ve lost my faith, I’ve lost my hope,
I’ve nothing left to give or cope.

I’m just an empty shell,
A broken man with nothing left to sell.
I’m just a man with nothing left to cost,
A man with nothing left to boast.
