Off The Beaten Path #Poetry

So there I was sitting in
a filthy café eating cold
chili, stale crackers, and
burnt coffee…

I shook my head in disbelief
as the temperature in there
was a scorching ninety degrees
and the cook was swatting
flies with his spatula…

Smoke was billowing around
me as a rusty old fan churned
the hot air my way accompanied
by cigarette smoke from two old
men sitting next to a sign stating
“No Smoking”…

To top it off, my waitress was about
one hundred years old wearing a
very short dress, two different shoes,
and a prolapsed rectum which protruded
below her dress leaving end trails where
ever she walked…

Well, anyway, the dessert was good.
