The Insomniac’s Soliloquy: A Poetic Monologue on Sleeplessness
I lie awake, in the still of night,
As the world around me slips from sight,
My mind awhirl, with thoughts so deep,
And the weight of the day, I cannot keep.
The clock ticks on, with steady pace,
As I search in vain, for a restful space,
But sleep eludes me, like a fleeting dream,
A distant memory, or so it seems.
Oh, how I long, for that peaceful slumber,
To be wrapped in darkness, without a number,
But for now, I’ll watch the stars above,
And hope that sleep, will bring me love.
