The Selfish Me

Selfish me, always wanting more,
Never content, always at war.
I take and take, without a care,
Leaving nothing behind but a selfish air.

But what is the cost of this endless greed?
What do I lose in this constant need?
For in the end, I am left alone,
With nothing to show, and nothing to own.
