A code that would unite us,
A code that would be just,
A code that would protect us,
From all kinds of abuse.
A code that would give women,
The same rights as men,
A code that would promote equality,
For all of us, within.
A code that would be secular,
And not based on religion,
A code that would be fair,
To all people of all persuasion.
A code that would be modern,
And not stuck in the past,
A code that would be progressive,
And help us to move forward at last.
A uniform civil code,
Is a dream for many,
But it is a dream that can come true,
If we all work together, with unity.
