  The feeling of being loved,
  Is like a warm embrace,
  It fills your heart with joy and peace,

  And the contented sigh.

  It’s knowing that you’re not alone,
  And someone’s always there,

  The Pain of Being Me

  I live in a world that does not understand me
  A world that judges me by how I look and act
  A world that expects me to conform and agree
  A world that rejects me for being different and abstract

  I suffer in silence as I hide my true self
  As I pretend to be someone that I’m not
  As I suppress my feelings and emotions on a shelf
  As I deny my identity and dreams that I’ve got

  I cry in the dark as I feel alone and hopeless
  As I wonder if there’s anyone who cares
  As I question if there’s any meaning or purpose
  As I despair if there’s any hope or prayers

  I long for a day when I can be free and happy
  When I can embrace who I am and what I feel
  When I can find someone who loves me for me
  When I can heal from the pain of being real.

  Just being me

  Version 1

  Just being me, as simple as it sounds, No masks, no pretense, no playing around, A freedom in being, a lightness of heart, A life lived true, from the very start.

  For in being ourselves, we find our way, To a life that’s happy, come what may, And though it may not be the easiest road, It’s the only way to carry our own load.

  Version 2

  Just being me, without a care, No need to pretend, no mask to wear, A soul laid bare, and a heart so true, Embracing flaws, and all that’s new.

  For in being me, I find my way, A light that shines, come what may, And though the path may twist and turn, I know that being me, is all I need to learn.

  I can feel my file,
  As it pulses through my veins,
  A part of me, a piece of my style,
  A symphony of thoughts, a mental refrain.

  It’s the essence of my being,
  The story of my life,

  It’s a reflection of my soul,
  A mirror to my mind,
  A place where I’m whole,
  And my thoughts are free to find.

  I can feel my file,
  A treasure trove of dreams,
  The memories that make me smile,
  And the nightmares, or so it seems.

  It’s a window to my style,
  And my imagination’s reins.
  A power that can beguile,
  And free me from all my chains.

  So let my words flow like a river,
  And my thoughts take to the sky,
  For I can feel my file forever,
  And it will never truly die.

  For though mortality may claim me,
  And my body may depart,
  I’ll remain a poet of the heart,
  For my words will live on and be free.

• Human

  I thought I found it:
  The answer to being human.
  It came in a little heart-shaped box.
  It told me to work hard and achieve my goals.
  It told me to find people that love me,
  and love them too.
  It told me to get my head down early
  and eat a colourful plate.
  With all these boxes ticked,
  I found glory in a greater life.
  But still I found myself hurting.
  I found brittle bones breaking.
  I saw people bleed and break.
  This, I found, is called being human.
  To that, there is no cure.
  But to treat life with a healthy smile,
  and live out your days bringing smiles to others.
  Now that, is being the most human of all.
  Being human.
