When seduction turns into brutal crime,
Love becomes a nightmare, time stands still.
Passion consumed by rage,
A fatal attraction, a killer’s thrill.
The object of desire, now turned to prey,
Their innocence lost, their life on display.
The hunter’s gaze, cold and unyielding,
A darkness within, forever concealing.
The fatal attraction, a twisted bond,
A love that knows no bounds, beyond.
The victim’s plea, unanswered and unheard,
Their fate sealed, their final word.
In this twisted tale of love and hate,
Passion consumes, leaving nothing but waste.
A fatal attraction, a love so deep,
It drives one mad, asleep or awake.
Beware the one whose love burns bright,
For in their eyes, there may lurk a night.
A fatal attraction, a love so blind,
It leaves a trail of sorrow and pain behind.
If you find yourself caught in this snare,
Flee before it’s too late, take care.
For the fatal attraction, once it takes hold,
Will consume your soul, leaving you cold.

A story is never over
A story is never over
Though the page is turned, the pen is down
The words may fade, the characters may go
But the story lives on in the mindThe reader takes the story with them
To places they’ve never been before
To meet people they’ve never known
To experience things they’ve never feltThe story becomes part of them
It shapes their thoughts, their feelings, their dreams
It gives them something to hold on to
When the world seems dark and coldSo a story is never over
It’s always there, waiting to be told
To be read, to be shared, to be loved
To be passed on from one person to anotherSo let’s keep telling stories
Let’s keep the magic alive
Let’s keep the world dreaming

A Light in the Darkness
A filament glows,
A spark of life,
A beacon of hope,
In the darkness of night. The light shines bright,
A warm and inviting glow,
A welcome respite,
From the cold and the snow. The light dispels the gloom,
And chases away the fear,
A reminder that even in the darkest of times,
There is always hope.

Love’s Lingering Language
Love’s lingering language lingers long,
Despite the numbness of the cold and frosty throng,
Expressions of the heart in words so bold,
Feelings frozen but still to be told.
The fire’s flames may flicker and fade,
But passion and poetry will never evade,
Rhymes and romance will always remain,
Even in freezing temperatures that cause us pain.
For love is a language that speaks to the soul,
It warms us up when we feel less whole,
And though the cold may numb our being,
Love’s language keeps our hearts from fleeing.

Lips gently pressed
Lips gently pressed upon a cold forehead,
A final kiss, a farewell to the dead,
Tears fall like rain, a heart full of sorrow,
As the world becomes a darker shade of tomorrow.
Memories flood, a life once lived,
A love once shared, a heart once grieved,
But through the pain, a glimmer of hope,
For a soul has ascended to a higher scope.
The warmth of a touch, a love still felt,
Though the body has left, the soul has not melt,
For in our hearts, their flame still burns,
A love eternal, forever yearns.

The Truth Untold
In the far distant, cold universe,
The truth untold lasts,
A vast beauty in a timeless verse,
Space’s secrets are vast. From the tiniest of atoms to the largest of stars,
The universe is full of mysteries and scars.
The truth untold lies in its depths,
A timeless beauty that never forgets. The stars twinkle like diamonds in the sky,
Their light traveling millions of miles by and by.
The universe is a canvas of colors and light,
A masterpiece that’s always in sight. In the far distant, cold universe,
The truth untold lasts,
A vast beauty in a timeless verse,
Space’s secrets are vast.As we gaze upon the stars above,
We can’t help but feel a sense of love.
For the universe is a wondrous place,
Full of mysteries and endless grace.

Lost in the Woods
Surrounded by a deep eerie forest,
Where trees towered and leaves rustled with unrest.
The path was winding and the air was cold,
The journey ahead seemed dark and bold. The moon was hidden behind a veil of mist,
And the stars were scarce, as if they didn’t exist.
The silence was broken by an owl’s hoot,
And the sound of footsteps that followed suit. The darkness enveloped everything in sight,
As I stumbled forward with all my might.
Lost in the woods, with no end in sight,
I prayed for dawn to bring some light.

Winter’s Embrace
The cold breeze hugging wrist,
Feels like a lover’s bliss,
Winter’s embrace so tight,
Makes one feel alive and right. The chilly wind whispers in ears,
Bringing along all of winter’s cheers,
The frosty air tingles the skin,
And takes away all worries and din.The trees sway to the rhythm of the breeze,
As if they’re dancing with ease,
The snowflakes fall from above,
Covering everything with a blanket of love.So let the cold breeze hug your wrist,
And let yourself be kissed,
By winter’s embrace so divine,
A moment that is truly benign.

Frozen Fear
Tremors in the night, freezing my dreams,
I’m lost in a world of icy extremes.
My mind is numb, my body is cold,
The fear inside me is growing bold.A chilling wind blows through my hair,
As I wander through this frozen nightmare.
The ground beneath me starts to shake,
And in the distance, I see an icy lake.My heart races as the tremors increase,
I know that I must find release.
From this frozen fear that grips my soul,
And makes me feel so far from whole.Inspired by: altpoetryprompts

A Cold Heart
A Cold Heart
A cold heart beats inside my chest,
A frozen mass that won’t be blessed.
No warmth, no love, no empathy,
A lonely life, too blind to see.

Nights Are Getting Colder
Nights are getting colder, oh what a thrill,
Numbing my senses, like a bitter pill.
Nagging and niggling, the chill won’t relent,
Nursing my misery, with each breath spent.Nostalgic and naive, I long for the past,
Nursing my wounds, like a love that won’t last.
Nearing the end, the cold creeps in,
Narrowing my vision, like a fool with no win.Numb and neglected, I shiver and shake,
Nudging away comfort, with each step I take.
Nearing the bottom, I cling to my pride,
Nestled in my misery, with nowhere to hide.

My world feels so cold and empty without you
My world feels so cold and empty without you
My world feels so cold and empty without you,
Like a winter’s night, with no moon shining through,
The stars have lost their sparkle, the sky is dark and gray,
And I’m left with nothing, but memories of yesterday. The laughter we shared, the love we knew,
Now seems like a dream, that never came true,
The warmth of your touch, the sound of your voice,
Now just a distant echo, that leaves me with no choice. But to face the truth, that you’re no longer here,
And try to move on, and face my fear,
Of living in a world, that feels so cold and empty,
Without you by my side, to guide and protect me.

Shawl
Shawl
You wrap me in your shawl
A cozy and soft embrace
You keep me warm and safe
From the cold and harsh worldYou weave me in your shawl
A pattern of love and care
You show me your skill and art
With every stitch and knotYou gift me with your shawl
A token of your heart
You make me feel special and loved
With every color and threadYou are my shawl
A comfort and a joy
You are my everything
My shawl of love

Nothing Makes Me Want to Stay
Nothing makes me want to stay
Nothing makes me want to stay,
In this place that feels so wrong,
I long for something more,
A life where I belong. The days are long and dreary,
And the nights are filled with pain,
I search for a glimmer of hope,
But it’s all in vain. The people here are cold and distant,
And the streets are dark and gray,
Nothing makes me want to stay,
And I can’t find a reason to delay. So I’ll pack my bags and hit the road,
And chase my dreams to the horizon,
For I know that somewhere out there,
My true home is just waiting to be risen.

My Life Without You
My Life Without You
My life without you, a world so cold,
A heart so empty, that’s hard to hold,
The memories, they linger, of love so true,
A world of emotion, that’s hard to construe. The laughter, the tears, they’re all a part,
Of a life without you, that’s breaking my heart,
The moments we shared, they’re now in the past,
A love so fleeting, that couldn’t last. But even as I walk, this world so blue,
I carry a piece of you, that’s forever true,
A reminder of love, that will always renew.

Cuddles at Night #Poetry
Cuddles at night, a cozy embrace,
A warmth so pure, it fills us with grace,
A comfort so strong, it eases the mind,
A thing of beauty, that’s hard to find. The blanket, it wraps, and covers us tight,
A shield from the cold, that brings us delight,
Its texture, it soothes, and fills us with peace,
A thing of wonder, that never will cease. The pillows, they fluff, and cradle our head,
A thing of comfort, that eases our dread,
Their softness, it lulls, and fills us with ease,
A thing of beauty, that brings us to peace. The room, it’s dim, and filled with soft light,
A thing of comfort, that’s easy on the sight,
Its ambiance, it calms, and fills us with rest,
A thing of wonder, that’s always the best.Cuddles at night, they’re a thing of delight,
A wonder of nature, that’s always in sight,
They fill us with wonder, and endless awe,
A thing of beauty, that’s never a flaw.

A Sunbeam Through the Snow
A Sunbeam Through the Snow
Cold, white snowflakes fall from the sky,
Blanketing the world in a blanket of white.
A single sunbeam pierces through the cold,
Bringing warmth and light to the night. The sunbeam brings hope to the snow,
A reminder that spring will soon come.
The snowflakes sparkle in the sun,
A reminder of the beauty of winter’s run.The snowflakes slowly begin to melt,
A sign that the sun will soon reign.
The sunbeam brings life to the snow,
A reminder that winter won’t stay.

It’s been another cold night
It’s been another cold night
It’s been another cold night,
The winds howled with all their might,
The snowflakes danced in the air,
The darkness engulfed the town square. The fireplaces flickered in the homes,
As people huddled under their domes,
The frost on the windows crept and grew,
The icy chill seeping through. But in the distance, a faint light shone,
As if the dawn was about to dawn,
A glimmer of hope amidst the night,
The promise of warmth, of a new daylight. For even in the darkest hour,
There is a seed of hope, a power,
To persevere, to brave the cold,
To find the strength, to be bold.So let us hold on, let us believe,
That tomorrow, the world will relieve,
And the sun will rise with all its might,
To vanquish the darkness and make it bright.

Cold Flames
Cold Flames
Flames are often warm and bright,
But cold flames can light up the night.
Their icy glow can pierce the soul,
A frozen fire, that makes us whole.Like a winter’s night, cold and clear,
Cold flames bring a new frontier.
In their chill, there’s a strange warmth,
A paradox, but a powerful force.

A Vampire’s Bed
A Vampire’s Bed
The moon casts its eerie light,
Shrouding the night in its eerie sight.
The shadows creep and crawl,
As the vampire’s bed awaits its thrall.A dark and ancient energy stirs,
Though the room is filled with a chill.
The aroma of blood and death pervades,
As if the walls themselves had made a pact. The sheets are cold and icy,
A reminder that this is no paradise.
A creature of the night awaits,
Its hunger for blood will not abate. The night fades away with the sun’s light,
And the vampire’s bed is left in its plight.
Until the dark night returns,
It shall remain in the shadows, forlorn.

Thyme
It’s September.
My feet are cold, my heart too warm.
My legs are aching, the curtains too tight.
I should probably go to bed.
Sleep, read, masturbate, drink tea,
As long as i stop writing.
It’s been eight pages
About the same old thought.©VishalDutia

I was never really there
The past walks barefoot on glass through my mind.
Bleeding droplets of pain for me to find.
Dancing to macabre melodic screams,
playing on the wind of shattered dreams. The present sometimes leaves me feeling cold.
So many thoughts of you so hard to hold.
Am I the only one left to deceive?
The spirits speak but I fail to believe. The future has no secrets left to find.
I walk amongst the living left behind.
Absence never made this heart grow fonder,
in the universe that I’ve been cursed to wander.©VishalDutia

Cold Steel And A Heart Of Stone
Shattered to pieces
I’m on the floor.
In the shadows lurks a
heart of stone, cold and
sharpe it cuts me deep.
Now I am all alone
with my heart of glass,
fragile and bruised I fought
to break free.
Pieces of memories from broken
ideas of a love lost to the shadows
hardened like steel and just as cold.
Love you brought me cold steel
and a heart of stone.
You forgot to love me,
you left me in the cold
damp shadows of your
shameless treason.
Doubt is the ultimate treason
against love and faith.
Like a cold breeze on my check,
you came frozen and hard and
you came to blame me.
Nothing can melt your frozen heart.© VishalDutia

Change
I know it’s hard now
It has been for a while
It seems life will always be the same
In a way that is true
Some things never change
Although, throughout
Seconds
Days
And years
Change is occurring all the time
Sadness won’t be in your heart forever
Our emotions change like the seasons
Some days it is unbearably cold
And other days it feels warm enough to bloom
But just know when you think your feeling nothing
I’ll be feeling everything for you.©VishalDutia

String Me your Feelings
String Me your Feelings,
on a Chain with Love.
So I can wear it at Night
and sleep like a Dove.
Stitch Me Two Pillows,
in Colors of Blue.
So I can lie down on them
and Dream about U.
Knit Me a Sweater,
to keep Me Warm.
This Winter it’s Cold
and I’m expecting a Storm.
Romance Me at Nights,
Once in a While.
As I make Love to U,
it will bring back your Smile.©VishalDutia

Seasonal Renaissance
May’s departure reminds us
That winter’s wool jacket
Has been replaced
With spring’s fabric sandalsThe morning frost
That caked our windshields
Is now but a glossy dew
That lays upon the grassThe late December chill
That weathered our flesh
And consumed our warmth
No longer can feastJune’s prelude will refresh us
The endless sunshine and subtle breeze
Will nourish us in preparation
For winter’s arrival once again©VishalDutia

My Dreams, will just be Dreams
There was Beauty in Her Silence,
So Beautiful was Her Voice.
Each Kiss She gave, was Elegant.
They made My Heart Rejoice.
Now Her Memories are an anchor,
Dragging down My Feet and Heart.
My weight, is slowly sinking.
But My Soul is not ready to Depart.
As the Clouds begin to Gather.
Thunder strikes the Ground.
My Shadow is ready for the Night.
But My Voice has lost it’s Sound.
I wish, I was…..true to Her
and had, My wrongs Mended.
My Dreams, will just be Dreams.
As now Her life has Ended.© VishalDutia

Disillusion
I’ve fallen out of love
and now I don’t have much to say
I think a little writer’s block
is better than that painthe pareidolia transforms
into another pattern
and signs that used to point to you
now do not seem to matterthough this is not to say
it’s always so easy to cope
I really feel the cold
without the false heat of false hopebut now my eyes are open
to the way I truly feel
and I can put my hope into
a search for something real©VishalDutia

Muted Day
It was a cool day
Felt like winter
The sky was crystal clear
The color was pure blue
It had rained the night before
The cool air seeped into ones bones leaving a dull ache
The cafe had mobile heaters lit
People were sitting in the café
Many seats were empty
Due to the cold
The atmosphere was muted
It made one long for the freshness of spring

Words, They Matter
Saying they don’t matter
That they don’t mean or mean other
Is far less fair than fire
Far colder than ice
And darker than the moonless night to be
Cold and free as you wish
If you want to witness loneliness
And the embodiment of whatcouldbe
Say they don’t matter one more time
