Extravagance, oh how it glows
A life of luxury, nobody knows
The finest things, at any cost
A life of excess, never lost
Diamonds and gold, a lavish display
A life of indulgence, day by day
But the price we pay, is often high
For extravagance can make us die
Greed and lust, at the heart of it all
As we watch our fortunes rise and fall
Extravagance may seem like a dream
But in the end, it’s not what it seems.
It was tasty and intoxicating, that first sip of gin,
A world of flavor, that’s hard to begin,
The juniper, it sparkled, with a hint of lime,
A world of pleasure, that’s hard to confine.
The warmth, it spread, with each passing sip,
A world of relaxation, that’s hard to outstrip,
The memories, they linger, of nights so fine,
A world of indulgence, that’s hard to decline.
But even as I sip, this drink so divine,
I’m reminded of balance, and a world so benign,
For even in pleasure, there’s a need to define.
Lick my lips, taste the sweet,
A moment of pleasure, so complete.
With every flavor, a new delight,
A taste of heaven, that’s out of sight.
Lick my lips, feel the heat,
A rush of desire, so hard to beat.
With every touch, a new sensation,
A moment of passion, that’s pure elation.
Lick my lips, savor the moment,
A memory so sweet, that’s heaven-sent.
With every bite, a new experience,
A moment of indulgence, that’s pure bliss.
A heavenly delight, oh so sweet,
A treat that we just can’t beat,
Chocolate truffles, a luxurious feat,
A taste that makes our heart skip a beat.
Smooth and creamy, melt in your mouth,
A moment of bliss, no need to shout,
A treat so divine, we could never go without,
A deliciousness that we all rave about.
Each bite, a moment of pure ecstasy,
A symphony of flavors, oh so tasty,
A luxurious escape, from life so hasty,
A moment of indulgence, so much more than pastry.
So let us savor this heavenly delight,
And indulge in every bite,
For chocolate truffles, an experience so right,
A luxury that we all need in our life.
Here’s a recipe for chocolate truffles:
8 oz. of semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup of heavy cream
1/4 cup of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Cocoa powder or powdered sugar, for rolling the truffles
In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter over medium heat until the butter has melted and the mixture comes to a simmer.
Remove from the heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and let it cool to room temperature, then cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
Using a spoon or a melon baller, scoop out small balls of the chocolate mixture and roll them into balls.
Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or powdered sugar to coat.
Store the truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Enjoy your heavenly chocolate truffles!
