• Love’s Disaster

  When all the world was bright with spring,
  And love’s young dream was mine,
  I thought no ill could ever bring
  A cloud across the shine.
  
  But, lo! the storm came sudden o’er,
  The sky grew dark and drear;
  And love, that seemed so bright before,
  Was changed to bitter fear.
  
  And now I know that love is blind,
  And hope is all a lie;
  And he who trusts in womankind
  Must surely rue the day.
  
  For love is like a summer dream,
  That fades away too soon;
  And he who hopes to win the gleam
  Must pay the bitter boon.
  
  So let me learn from bitterest woe
  The lesson love has taught,
  And never trust to woman’s vow,
  Or hope to win her heart.

  And make your future firm.

  Or make you wear a frown.
  Embrace them with a smile,
  And go the extra mile.

  Is a chance for growth to take.
  So, don’t be afraid to try,

  Cuddled in Sadness She Smiles

  Cuddled in sadness she smiles,
  Hiding her pain with practiced style.
  Her heart may be broken, but her spirit’s strong,
  And she won’t let her sorrow last for long.

  The tears may fall, but she wipes them away,
  Putting on a brave face to face the day.
  She knows that sadness is part of life,
  But she won’t let it cause her strife.

  For every trial, there’s a lesson learned,
  And every heartbreak, a bridge to be burned.
  She’ll rise above the pain and strife,
  And find the strength to live her life.

  So, cuddled in sadness she smiles,
  Knowing that life’s challenges are trials.
  And though her heart may ache for a while,
  She’ll find the courage to once again smile.

  A Dare That Backfires

  A dare was set, a challenge made,
  To do something bold, the stakes were laid,
  With confidence high, and ego in tow,
  The dare was accepted, the challenge to go.

  But as things unfolded, it became clear,
  The dare was a trap, a mistake to fear,
  For the challenge ahead, was too great to bear,
  And the backfire was real, a lesson to share.

• The Enemy Within

  You are your own worst enemy.
  Indeed, it is you who have placed
  these traps and obstacles along your path.
  You underestimated the enemy inside-
  its power, its strength, its perseverance.
  It has overwhelmed you,
  made you feel small and insignificant.
  So do not waste your time in search
  of an enemy in this world-
  your enemy inhabits you.
  You have only to look
  within.
