How can you discern?
If the unseen forces gripping
your resolve are not mightier than your urge to
rebel.
How can you fathom?
That there’s more to this realm than your
finite eyes can behold and your bounded mind can grasp.
When will you perceive?
That there’s been a change in your outlook,
When what was once vile now seems virtuous,
You end up saying “it’s not that grave.”
How can you verify?
If these emotions are genuine,
Or merely the mind’s ingenious ploy,
A phantom of our own being.
And how can I ascertain?
That the words I pen are veracious,
And not the mind’s deceptive scheme,
Twisting my reality.
