I never planned to travel the world
But fate had other plans for me
I followed the signs and the clues
And discovered wonders I never thought I’d seeI met people from different cultures and lands
Who taught me their stories and their ways
I shared with them my hopes and dreams
And formed friendships that lasted for daysI saw places of beauty and mystery
That filled me with awe and delight
I captured them in my memory and my camera
And cherished them with all my mightI learned things about myself and others
That changed my perspective and my view
I grew as a person and a traveler
And became more open and trueI never planned to travel the world
But I’m glad that I did anyway
It was a serendipitous journey
That enriched my life in every way
