  While friends and family may light the way,
  The path we take is ours to sway.

  Challenges may come, but we can learn and grow,
  And through it all, we’ll find our way to glow,
  So let us take each step with purpose and grace,
  And create a life that we can truly embrace.

  Searching for My True Self

  I have been living a lie for so long
  Trying to fit in and please everyone
  Trying to be someone that I don’t belong
  Trying to hide what I really feel and want

  But I can’t keep up this charade anymore
  I can’t ignore the voice inside my heart
  I can’t deny the truth that I adore
  I can’t suppress the urge to break apart

  I have to find out who I really am
  What I really love and what I really need
  What I really value and what I really stand
  What I really hope and what I really dream

  I have to search for my true self and be free
  To live my life with authenticity.

  The Pain of Being Me

  I live in a world that does not understand me
  A world that judges me by how I look and act
  A world that expects me to conform and agree
  A world that rejects me for being different and abstract

  I suffer in silence as I hide my true self
  As I pretend to be someone that I’m not
  As I suppress my feelings and emotions on a shelf
  As I deny my identity and dreams that I’ve got

  I cry in the dark as I feel alone and hopeless
  As I wonder if there’s anyone who cares
  As I question if there’s any meaning or purpose
  As I despair if there’s any hope or prayers

  I long for a day when I can be free and happy
  When I can embrace who I am and what I feel
  When I can find someone who loves me for me
  When I can heal from the pain of being real.

  Desperate for someone to hold,
  A touch to soothe the heart so cold,

  To end the pain that can’t be told.

  Desperate for someone to care,
  To listen and to always be there,
